Berlin Wall Museum
The history of the Berlin Wall, German Berliner Mauer, covers a sensitive and difficult subject. The wall, which can be interpreted as a symbol of division, witnessed many individual and social tragedies, for which the Berliner Mauer Museum serves as a reminder.
In regard to the design, it was important to create a sign which can quickly communicate the subject exhibited in the museum. This is how the logo of the museum was born, in which a simple typography game refers to the separation of Berlin, which was a distinctive characteristic of the period. Accordingly, the emphasis is on the logo, and the other elements of the design also follow this analogy.
The logo’s leitmotif defines the entire visual identity, and as a last twist, it creates a gesture based on the concept of being torn apart and separated by adding a perforation on the business card. These cards can be torn into two, with their contents unchanged in two pieces, thus assuming their final meaning.
